If you're invited to a brokerage as an agent, you'll be asked to capture your license info as part of onboarding. It's required for FINTRAC compliance and your brokerage's records.
When You're Prompted
The onboarding wizard adds a License Info step for agents under a brokerage. It comes after you connect your email and before you finish onboarding.
(Solo brokers and brokerage admins don't see this step - solo brokers register their license elsewhere; admins capture their own license during brokerage setup.)
What We Ask For
- License number - your provincial regulator's license number.
- License jurisdiction - the province (or provinces) you're licensed in.
- License class - Mortgage Agent Level 1, Level 2, Mortgage Broker, etc., as applicable in your jurisdiction.
- License expiry - when you need to renew.
Why We Capture It
- FINTRAC compliance - your brokerage's compliance program needs this on file.
- Your name and license appear on reports - borrowers see who they're working with.
- Your principal broker has visibility - they're responsible for ensuring every agent's license is current.
Editing Your License Later
If your license details change (renewal, new class, additional jurisdiction):
- Go to Settings.
- Find the License card.
- Update the fields.
- Save.
Updates apply immediately. Your principal broker is notified if anything material changes.
License Expiry Reminders
We'll surface a reminder as your license expiry approaches so you don't get caught off guard. The reminder appears in your notifications and (for the admin) on the Brokerage Team page.
