Conversation History With Ann

Past conversations are saved. Use the switcher to pick one up, or start a new chat.

Ann saves every conversation you have with her. Pick one up where you left off, or start a fresh one when the topic shifts.

Opening The Conversation Switcher

In the Ann pane, look for the conversation icon (or three-line menu) in the top-left of the pane.

Click to open the switcher. You'll see:

  • New Conversation at the top.
  • A list of past conversations, most recent first, each with an auto-generated title.

Starting A New Conversation

Click New Conversation. Ann's pane resets to the empty state (greeting + sample prompts). Your previous conversation is saved in the history - it's not lost.

Start fresh when:

  • The topic is unrelated to what you were just discussing.
  • You want to scope a focused conversation (e.g., just about one specific client).
  • Your previous conversation got long and confused.

Picking Up A Past Conversation

Click any past conversation in the switcher. The full message history loads. You can continue asking from where you left off.

Context from past messages carries forward within a conversation. If you asked about Sarah Lee earlier, you can refer to "her" later without re-specifying.

How Conversation Titles Are Generated

We auto-title each conversation based on the first question or two. So a conversation might be called "Refi opportunities in Toronto" or "Sarah Lee's renewal options".

If a title doesn't match what the conversation became (you started about Sarah but pivoted to lender comparison), don't worry - the title is just a quick scan handle, not a strict label.

When To Start Fresh Vs Continue

  • Continue when you're still on the same client, topic, or workflow. Context helps.
  • Start fresh when you're done with a topic, or when an old conversation has too much noise.

There's no penalty for starting fresh often - Ann handles it cleanly either way.

Deleting Old Conversations

Some users like to keep a clean switcher. You can delete a past conversation from the switcher menu (look for a delete option in the row's overflow menu).

Deleting is permanent. Ann doesn't have a recycle bin.
