Ann lives in the header of the dashboard. One click opens the conversation pane and you can start asking.
Where The Button Is
Look in the top-right of any dashboard page. You'll see a button next to the notification bell labelled Ask Ann (with a BETA tag).
Click it to open the Ann pane on the right side of your screen.
The Empty State
If you've never used Ann (or you've started a fresh conversation), you'll see:
- A greeting (e.g., "Good afternoon, Sarah").
- A line: "I'm Ann, how can I help?"
- Three sample prompts to get you started:
- "Who's up for renewal?"
- "Best 5-year fixed right now?"
- "Show me my refi pipeline."
Click any sample to send it. Or just start typing your own question.
Tips For Good Prompts
Some patterns that consistently get useful answers:
- Lead with the verb. "Show me...", "Find...", "Schedule...", "Compare...".
- Specify scope. "...in the next 90 days", "...with over $300 monthly savings", "...for clients with First National."
- Reference specific clients by name when relevant. "Did Sarah Lee open her last report?"
- Ask one thing at a time. Multi-part questions sometimes get muddled. Break them up.
- Follow up. If the first answer isn't quite right, refine it: "Sort that by months to maturity" or "Only the high-engagement ones."
Conversational Flow
Ann maintains context within a conversation. You can refer to "the same list", "that client", "those candidates" and she'll know what you mean as long as you're in the same conversation. See Conversation History With Ann for how conversations work.
Closing The Pane
Click the X in the top-right of the pane, click outside, or press Escape. Your conversation is saved - you can pick it back up later.
