If your outreach stopped sending or replies stopped being detected, your email connection has almost certainly expired. Reconnecting fixes it in 30 seconds.
Why Email Connections Expire
OAuth tokens (the keys we hold for Gmail or Outlook) can expire or be revoked when:
- You changed your Google or Microsoft password.
- You signed out of all sessions on Google or Microsoft.
- An admin in your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 environment revoked third-party access.
- It's been a long time since your last activity (some tokens have automatic expiry).
This isn't a BrokerPlus bug - it's how OAuth works everywhere.
Reconnecting From Settings
- Go to Settings.
- Find the Email card.
- You'll likely see a banner: Connection expired. Please reconnect.
- Click Reconnect.
- Authorize again via Google or Microsoft.
- You're back to connected.
The whole flow takes under a minute.
Checking That Sends Resumed
After reconnecting:
- Try a test send to yourself from a client profile.
- Check your Contacted page for any pending sends that should now go out.
- Run a manual outreach to confirm everything's flowing again.
If the test send arrives, you're back to normal.
What Sends Were Impacted While You Were Disconnected
While disconnected:
- Manual sends failed - they were not delivered. You'll see them flagged in the relevant client profile.
- Auto outreach was paused - anything in the queue for the time you were disconnected was not sent.
- Reply detection was paused - replies during the disconnect window weren't logged.
After reconnecting, future activity resumes. We don't replay missed sends or backfill missed replies. You may want to manually review which clients you intended to message during the gap and send again.
If Reconnecting Doesn't Work
Possible causes:
- Your organization's Google/Microsoft admin has blocked third-party app access. Ask your IT admin to allow BrokerPlus.
- You're trying to reconnect with a different account than the one originally connected. Always reconnect with the same email.
- There's a deeper outage at Google or Microsoft. Try again in 15 minutes.
