Connecting your email lets outreach go from your real address and lets us detect when a client replies. Without it, you can't send IRD reports or renewal outreach.
What Connecting Your Email Does
- Outreach sends from your address. Clients reply directly to you, not to a system address.
- We detect replies and classify sentiment. A positive reply moves the client to Interested. A negative reply moves them to Not Interested. See Reply Tracking And Sentiment.
- Auto outreach follow-ups stop when a client replies. We need the reply detection to know when to back off.
What We Don't Do
- We don't sync your full thread history. We don't pull or store the content of past emails.
- We don't read replies beyond classifying sentiment. The actual reply text stays in your inbox.
- We don't send from a system address. Every outreach uses your real account.
Connecting
- Go to Settings.
- Find the Email card.
- Click Connect Gmail or Connect Outlook.
- You'll be redirected to Google or Microsoft to authorize.
- Approve the requested scopes (send-as and metadata for reply detection).
- You're returned to Settings with a green Connected state.
Reconnecting works the same way - just click the connect button again.
Disconnecting
In the Email card, click Disconnect. We stop sending and stop checking for replies. Anything that's already scheduled to go out in the next few hours may still send if it's been handed off to the queue.
What To Do Next
- Send your first IRD outreach: Sending A Candidate Report.
- Enable auto outreach: Enabling And Adjusting Auto Outreach.
- If your connection breaks later: Email Isn't Syncing Or Stopped Working.
