Connecting Gmail or Outlook is the most important integration in BrokerPlus. Without it, you can't send IRD outreach, renewal emails, or programmatic reports - and you can't get reply detection on the things you send.
What We Use Your Email For
Two things, that's it:
1. Sending On Your Behalf
Every email we send (manual or auto outreach, equity reports, consolidation reports) goes from your real address using your connected account. Borrowers see your name, your email, and reply directly to you.
This is fundamentally different from email tools that send from "noreply@" addresses on your behalf. We're using your account.
2. Reply Detection With Sentiment
When a borrower replies to one of your sends, we detect the reply and classify the sentiment as positive (interested) or negative (not interested). That's how clients land in Interested or Not Interested on Contacted.
For more on what we detect vs. don't, see Reply Tracking And Sentiment.
What We Don't Do
Important boundaries:
- We don't sync your full inbox. Past emails stay where they are.
- We don't store the body of replies. Just the fact that there was a reply and its sentiment.
- We don't read non-reply emails. Other emails in your inbox are invisible to us.
- We don't access historical threads. Conversation history isn't pulled.
This is a deliberate scope - we watch only what's needed to power outreach and reply detection.
Connecting
- Go to Settings.
- Find the Email card.
- Click Connect Gmail or Connect Outlook.
- Authorize via Google or Microsoft.
- Approve the requested scopes.
- You're connected.

If You're On A Team
Each teammate can connect their own inbox and set their own name, title, headshot, and email signature, separate from the primary broker.
By default a teammate's sends still go out from the primary broker's inbox and branding, so the whole team speaks with one voice. If the primary broker has given a teammate the send with their own email & branding permission and that teammate connects their own inbox, the teammate can flip Send from my email under Settings > My Sending Inbox. With it on, everything they send - manual outreach, scheduled messages, equity reports, debt emails - goes from their own address, name, and signature. With it off (the default), it all goes from the primary broker.
If you'd rather a teammate never send from the shared inbox, turn off Send from the shared inbox for them on the My Team page. Once that's off and they've connected their own inbox, their sends always go from their own address - they don't also need to flip Send from my email. If a teammate is barred from the shared inbox but hasn't connected their own inbox yet, they can't send email at all - outreach, reports, and other client emails are turned off for them until they connect an inbox, rather than going out under a BrokerPlus or primary-broker address. And if the primary broker has also turned off that teammate's send with their own email & branding permission, sending stays off even with an inbox connected - the teammate can send from neither inbox, so their send buttons stay disabled until the broker turns one of those back on.
For which identity automated drip outreach uses org-wide, see the Automated outreach sends from setting under Settings > Outreach Settings. Manual sends always follow each person's own Send from my email switch.
Disconnecting And Reconnecting
- Disconnect - click Disconnect in the Email card. Sending stops, reply detection stops.
- Reconnect - click Connect again. We re-authorize and resume sending.
Disconnecting doesn't delete any past sends or reply data - it just stops future activity.
If Your Connection Breaks
OAuth tokens expire or get revoked occasionally (you logged out of all sessions, you reset your account, etc.). When this happens, we'll show a banner asking you to reconnect.
