When a client opens an equity report you sent and updates one of their own numbers - their mortgage balance, their home value, or their address - BrokerPlus can automatically email them back to acknowledge the change and open the conversation. The email goes out from your connected mailbox, on your behalf, using a template you control.
This is separate from the in-app notification you get when a client makes a change (see Notifications You'll Receive). That notification tells you; these emails go to the client.
Where To Edit
- Go to Settings > Templates.
- Select the Equity Report tab.
You'll see three change emails, one per sub-tab:
- Change in Balance - sent when the client updates their mortgage balance.
- Change in Valuation - sent when the client updates their home value.
- Change in Address - sent when the client updates their property address.
At the top of the page, a Your Templates / Shared Templates toggle sets whose templates you're editing. Every user gets their own personal copy of each change email by default, and that personal copy is what sends. To hand yours to the rest of the brokerage, open the ⋮ menu on a template card and choose Share with team - it copies your template into the shared set while your personal copy stays yours. The toggle and the Share with team option only appear when at least two people on your team have email sending permissions.
You can keep more than one version of each change email. Use the picker above the editor to add, rename, or duplicate a template, then mark the one you want with Active. The Active template is the one that sends.
Turning Each One On Or Off
Each change has its own toggle in the top-right of its card. Turn on only the changes you want to follow up on - for example, you can email on balance and value changes but leave address off. All three are on by default.
When It Sends
A change email goes out at 9:00 AM the next morning in the client's local time - never the same day. The timezone is worked out from the client's property location, falling back to your own timezone if we can't place them.
If a client makes several edits to the same field in one day, they still only get one email the next morning, with their latest value.
A connected email account is required (the message sends from your mailbox). If your brokerage hasn't connected an inbox, nothing is sent.
Available Merge Variables
Drop these into the subject or body from the Variable button:
{client_name}- the client's first name{broker_name}- your name{property_address}- the client's property address{new_value}- the value they just changed it to{old_value}- the value before the change{organization_name}- your brokerage name
{new_value} and {old_value} are filled in for whichever change the email is about - the new balance in the balance email, the new home value in the valuation email, and so on. Money fields are formatted as currency automatically.
Previewing
Your edits save on their own as you type - a Saved note appears at the bottom of the screen once they're recorded, so there's no Save button to click.
