SMS is the second send channel for reports. Connect RingCentral once, and a Send via SMS option unlocks on every equity and consolidation send.
Prerequisite: RingCentral Connected
Before SMS is available:
- Go to Settings.
- Find the RingCentral card.
- Click Connect.
- Authorize via RingCentral's OAuth flow.
Full walkthrough: RingCentral.
When The SMS Option Appears
Once RingCentral is connected, the Send button on equity and consolidation reports gets a small dropdown - you can pick Email or SMS.
If the client doesn't have a phone number on file, the SMS option is greyed out. Add their phone number in the client profile first.
What The Borrower Receives
The SMS is short:
Hey
first name, here's your latest equity update fromyour name:short link
The link opens the same interactive equity (or consolidation) report they'd see if you sent via email. Same branding, same content, same interaction (they can update valuation, address, balance from the SMS link too).
When To Send Via SMS Instead Of Email
- Younger or mobile-first clients. Some segments simply respond better to SMS.
- You know their inbox is buried. SMS gets read fast.
- You've already emailed and gotten silence. Try SMS as a second channel.
A common pattern: send equity reports monthly via email, send the consolidation report via SMS as a more attention-grabbing follow-up.
Reverting To Email-Only
Just send email next time. The channel is picked per-send; there's no persistent setting.
If you want to fully disable SMS, disconnect RingCentral from Settings. The SMS option will disappear.
What To Do Next
- Set up RingCentral: RingCentral.
- Send the report itself: Sending Equity And Consolidation Reports.
