We list a lot of lenders by default. If most of your deals go to a small subset, hide the rest so the Rates page reflects how you actually work.
How To Hide A Lender
- Go to Rates.
- Find the lender row.
- Click the menu (or hide icon) on the row.
- Choose Hide Lender.
The row disappears from the grid.
Where Hidden Lenders Go
Hidden lenders are still fully in the data - they're just hidden from the UI. The system still has their rates and lender-specific penalty math available.
To see your hidden lenders, click Show Hidden (or the equivalent control in the page header). They appear in a separate section so you can unhide them individually.
Showing A Lender Again
In the hidden lenders section, click Unhide on the lender row. They reappear in the main grid.
Effect On Comparisons In The Penalty Calculator
Hidden lenders behave slightly differently depending on context:
- In the Penalty Calculator's lender comparison view (Comparing Lender Options), hidden lenders are excluded from the comparison table. You won't see their rates ranked alongside the rest.
- In the lender picker for the current lender (where you tell the calculator who the client's current mortgage is with), hidden lenders are still selectable - because the client's current lender doesn't depend on your preferences.
Bottom line: hiding a lender removes them from your "options I would place this client with" set, not from "lenders that exist in the world."
When To Hide
- Default lenders you never work with - clean up the grid.
- B lenders you're not currently approved with.
- Lenders in a market segment you don't service.
When Not To Hide
- Big banks - even if you never place deals there, you need them in the comparison view because that's often where the client currently is.
What To Do Next
- Add custom lenders to replace hidden defaults: Adding A Custom Lender.
- See your cleaned-up grid: The Rates Page.
